About This ROM
Hell is Us drops Remi into Hadea, a country already being torn apart by civil war when something even stranger starts happening. Supernatural creatures have appeared, and ordinary weapons barely help against them. Remi has his own reasons for returning home, but finding answers means walking through abandoned villages, old ruins and places where the fighting has left very little behind. A sword, a handful of unusual weapons and his drone are about all he can rely on when the creatures start closing in.
What makes the journey unusual is how little direction the game gives you. There’s no map covered in icons, no compass pointing toward the next objective and no trail telling you exactly where to go. You have to listen to conversations, remember landmarks and work things out yourself. Combat stays close-range, with swords, axes and spears built for dealing with the strange creatures roaming Hadea. It gives exploration a slightly uneasy feeling because finding the way forward is part of the problem, not something the interface solves for you.
