About This ROM
Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes Sinnoh back to a time before it was even called Sinnoh. Here it’s known as Hisui, a mostly wild region where people are still figuring out how to live alongside Pokémon. You arrive in Jubilife Village and join the Galaxy Expedition Team, with the unusual job of putting together Hisui’s first Pokédex. That means heading into the wilderness, watching how Pokémon behave and catching them—sometimes without starting a battle at all.
It feels quite different from the usual route-and-Gym setup. Wild Pokémon wander around in the open, and some of them won’t hesitate to attack you directly. You can sneak through grass, throw Poké Balls from a distance or send out one of your own Pokémon when a fight makes more sense. Research tasks give you a reason to catch, battle and observe the same species more than once. There’s also the mystery surrounding Arceus and the strange space-time distortions appearing across Hisui, so filling the Pokédex eventually becomes part of something much bigger.
